Gardner Sherrill is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ with over 20 years of experience in advising families, independent women, and entrepreneurs who are near or in retirement. Gardner believes whole-heartedly that by providing individual financial guidance he enables his clients to live a more balanced and rewarding life.
During Gardner’s career as a wealth manager and team leader at some of the most reputable brokerage firms and trust banks, he recognized that the financial advisory industry was at a crossroads. He opened Sherrill Wealth Management in 2012 because he saw a need for clients to be better heard and understood. With the rebranding of Shoreline Financial Partners in January of 2017, Gardner looks forward to continuing to offer his clients high-level management and truly personalized care.
He believes that Shoreline’s value-add isn’t necessarily just information, since people can find plenty of that on the internet. He believes success today requires filtering the noise and relating pertinent information tailored to an individual’s personal needs and capacity.
"We feel very confident in saying that, while some people like making their own decisions, the majority would benefit from working with a financial advisor to understand all the options available, to validate or challenge their views, and to help them build a plan that makes sense for their individual situation from the ground up," Gardner says.
He is also committed to helping those who have lost a partner to find their feet and get them on the road to financial stability as quickly as possible.
“I made it part of my practice many years ago to try and get every non-financial spouse to recognize that one day they may be responsible for picking up this role and that they should start now to become more comfortable with those duties and responsibilities,” he says. “A lack of knowledge or communication can translate into real crisis when there is the sudden loss of a partner who handles the money matters. Having a team of advisors in place can be crucial in reducing worry about finances and maintaining financial stability into the future.”
