Area financial management firms merge to create Shoreline Financial Partners
Sherrill Wealth Management and Wood Investment Management join forces to provide expert, client-centered care
BRADENTON, FL – Two well-respected Manatee County financial management firms, Sherrill Wealth Management and Wood Investment Management, will merge and begin operations in January 2017 as Shoreline Financial Partners, with the office located at 2520 Manatee Avenue W., Suite 200 in Bradenton. Partners Gardner Sherrill and Danny Wood are looking forward to providing clients with high-level expertise and personalized care.
Primary services will include financial planning/retirement strategies, estate conservation, investment management, 401Ks, IRAs, insurance and annuity products, tax and risk management.
Sherrill and Wood will feature a client-centered customer service model, enhanced by access to the most cutting-edge technology to inform their operations, and the power of a partnership with LPL, the fourth-largest investment firm in the U.S. and the largest independent broker/dealer in the nation.
"We both have large firm experience as well as years of working on our own," said Wood. "The primary benefits of our partnership are that we are not only able to provide deep expertise in various areas of financial management, we also don't have to impose a pre-packaged agenda with proprietary products and profit-sharing agreements that steer clients to certain products, or work to squeeze clients into predetermined financial profiles that may not be a good fit. We can handle multiple tiers of wealth in a truly personalized way, whatever is best for each of our clients."
"Our value-add isn't necessarily just information – people can find plenty of that on the internet. We believe success today requires filtering the noise and relating pertinent information tailored to an individual’s personal needs and capacity," added Sherrill. "We feel very confident in saying that, while some people like making their own decisions, the majority would benefit from working with a financial advisor to understand all the options available, to validate or challenge their views, and to help them build a plan that makes sense for their individual situation from the ground up."
The partners live within blocks of the office, and both have deep roots within Manatee County. Since 1992, Wood has provided a variety of financial services – including insurance, investments and finance – working with several respected large firms. He operated his own mortgage company with multiple brokers for a decade. He has worked in Manatee County since 1998, opening Wood Investment Management in 2014.
“I find it a privilege to partner with my clients and assist them in creating their life plan,” Wood said. “While my role is to represent their interests through sophisticated investment decisions, I like to simplify the process for them so they feel empowered and engaged in the process.”
During Sherrill's career as a wealth manager and team leader at some of the most reputable brokerage firms and trust banks, he recognized that the financial advisory industry was at a crossroads. He opened Sherrill Wealth Management in 2012 because he saw a need for clients to be better heard and understood.
"The best part of being an independent advisor is that we only have one boss – our clients” said Sherrill. "We’re no longer distracted by corporate goals that may not align with our client’s best interests. Our singular focus is to be our clients' last financial advisors."
